Since the Washington and Seoul agreed to deploy the Terminal High Altitude Area Defense system in South Korea last July, China seems to be punishing Seoul for the decision. China has blocked a variety of Korean goods, stopped pop-bands, and has targeted a Korean company cooperating with the state regarding the THAAD. Even though the US and South Korea reassure, that the defense system is meant to prevent attacks from North Korea, China sees it as a way to undermine its own nuclear deterrent. China is the biggest trading partner of 120 countries in the world, and the country may use trade sanctions more often as a tool of power going ahead.
